Dreams are precious things: desires for a better future, a gateway to a wondrous world beyond our own.

There are many that see dreams as fake promises of good fortune and prosperity. However, in Aspiratia: The Land of Dreams, dreams are very important. One’s inner thoughts can materialize and shape the very fabric of reality. Many Aspiratians strive for the betterment of dream-kind, but there are those, namely the Nightkeeper and his enforcers, that exist to spread nightmares with the aid of ShadowMasters. The Dreamkeeper is the one who stops the nightmares, but that is not easily done without a Defender. 

Saffron has found herself in a tough situation. As the Dreamkeeper, she cannot defend dreams forever on her own. The onslaught of ShadowMasters has become too much, and her old Defender left her long ago. Now desperate for help, Saffron, along with her trusty retainer Ray and sweet little sister Lumina, head to the mountain city of Ruggendy to meet with the wise sage Myrr, who can help with her dilemma. 

Meanwhile, in the real world, 16 year old Kelsey Bravely is dealing with problems of her own. She keeps having strange visions about a faraway world engulfed in darkness, and a mysterious light calling on her to save the day. Worse yet is another vision where her little brother, Kyle, is being swallowed whole by this darkness and turning into a monster. This image frightens Kelsey, who tells her father Kent about it. Kent tells her not to worry, but Kelsey has a sinking feeling that something might go terribly wrong. 

What direction things will be heading in, nobody knows. Although one thing is abundantly clear: Aspiratia is in grave danger. If there is to be any hope of survival, a Defender must be found.
